Metric thread set up on SB heavy 10

I got some good info on this in an earlier post. Got a problem. After finding the proper gears (48 tooth stud gear,44/56 gears for transposing gears, standard gear box gear) and installing them I got a surprise! When I try to raise the banjo up to engage the stud gear and the transposing gears the banjo hits the bottom of one of the reverse gears preventing that. I haven't seen any discussion on this so I would sure like some feed back!

Does your machine have a single or double tumbler gearbox?
If it is a double tumbler, it should have a spacer on the outboard side of the gearbox gear.
You need to swap the spacer to behind the gearbox gear so it can mesh with the outboard gear in your transposing set. The inboard gear of the transposing set meshes with the stud gear.
Also be careful that the banjo dont slide too far in when you move it.
