Metal Guys, Is This Safe?

Home made linear compensator. I would like some opinions on safety. Is the pressure just past the muzzle enough to stress the metal and create a dangerous condition?

Thanks.

Since the pressure, which is pretty low at the muzzle, is not contained, I doubt you will have any problems. Assuming there will be slots cut in the piece, It’s basically an open vent.

It is in its finished form. No slots or holes. It is to direct what muzzle energy I can away from the shooter while protecting the suppressor theads. Maybe my term of "linear compensator" was used incorrectly?

So does that change your opinion?

Thanks Jackie.

Only 1 way to find out if it works is to smoke test it!
I have shot another one just like it on a 204 last summer and it was fine and worked well for shooting from the truck. I could tell the difference when I shot without it in place.

But when I look at it, the first thing I think of is it going to explode in shrapnel at some time in the future with repeated use.

If you were dealing with my brain, you would understand my dilemma.

Thanks.

Thanks to all who responded. I really appreciate the experts weighing in on this.

I feel much better now......
