Meopta scopes

Good evening
I am in the market for a new scope for long range and was thinking about the meopta optika6 in 4.5-27x50.
I hear the glass in right up there with some of the euro glass at a cheaper price. I currently own several nsx from 2.5-10 up to 15-45 comp also a few Leupold varix3 in many power range have tryed a few vortex not for me.

Was wondering if anyone had first hand experience with the meopta scopes and how they compare to the American made scopes that I mentioned?

I believe the Optika6 is made from quality components but assembly is in the Czech to keep cost down. I have been eyeing these for a hunting gun but have been looking for reviews myself.

I was wanting one for my new 280AI but, I finally got tired of waiting after 2 months. Every week I was told next week, Meh. Gave up and got a Steiner. If they ever become readily available I might still try one.

I don't understand why we don't see more of them around the glass is supposed to be as good as some of the top euro glass and cheaper

I'm told Meopta glass is made by Schott, Schott make the glass for Zeiss.
Meopta scopes have a very good reputation in Europe, and although I have never owned one I have looked through a few and have always been impressed.

I have a Zeiss, have a friend with a Meopta. I can spot bullet with his just as well as mine.

I have a meopta 3-9 on my 6.5/55 hunting rifle and it's nicer than any Leupold in that power range. Very nice scope.

I think that I am going to buy a MeoPro for my son. There is little information out there on the MeoStar line. I am open to checking them out for me.

Meopta makes very nice optics, I have used them exclusively on my hunting guns for over 15 years.

Do not get too hung up on the fact that they use Schott glass. Schott like any other optics house produces and sells many grades of glass, their top grade glass is hard to beat but lower grades can be beat by quite a few optics houses in Europe, USA, and the East.
