Meopta Meopro 80 HD

Been looking to upgrade and I've been looking at a Meopta Meopro 80. Anyone using or have used one, what are the good and not so good things about it? What may be other options in the same or less price range?

Yes I have seen it (today actually) along with a lot of others at the NRA show in Atlanta. That is a good scope but I also really like the Vortex Razor 27-60x85. Their warranty is hard to beat and the spotter is fantastic too. The night force scopes are also good and may be the same as the Meopta who I think is their manufacturer.

I considered this scope versus a Swarovski ATS and settled on the ATS. After a year of using it for competition spotting, the Meopta scope would have performed just as well in that role for about $1K less. I think it is an excellent scope at a fair price point.

The 80mm meopro is a decent scope but the 82mm S2 is a great scope that compares favorably with the Swarovski ATX/STX. I've had the S2 and own an ATX currently. For looking at targets a mid grade scope like the 80mm Meopta or a Razor is plenty of scope. The center will be clear and you don't generally compete at dawn/dusk.

If you could swing the 82mm Meopta S-2 it will definitely spoil you. I picked one up from a forum member and it is really an amazing spotter....
