Medium-Length Actions vs. Short-Actions with Longer Ejection Ports

I've waited for years to see if certain precision rifle action manufacturers would jump into making a 'medium-length' action for these difficult short-magnums (e.g. 7 SAUM; 6.5 PRC) and none of them have. Defiance is certainly one example of a company who will fill the bill, but I'm not a fan. Nonetheless, it seems that some of them who don't make 'medium-length' actions are now making short actions with lengthened ejection-ports to compensate. I would love to hear from any of you who have experience with such things. I mean, do they function as well as these 'medium-length' actions?

if it’s mag fed you’re still held back even with a longer ejection port, 7 saum is fine in a short action with the 168’s but really shines with the 180 and heavier at a 3+”” oal.
The cheapest mid action option is the magnum tikka’s
They are limited to 3.4” oal I believe.
That’s perfect for my 7 Saum with 183’s and 190’s.

If you’re really wanting an perfect action for the short magnums especially the 7mm and 300 and I understand why as they are awesome cartridges the tikka or a mid length is really sweet option.

I’ve built several 6.5PRC’s on short and long Remington & Bergara actions. Short actions limit cartridge length to magazine length. Long actions solve that problem. Both functioned fine.
I’m currently shooting f class with 7x6.5PRCW. Put together a Bergara short action running Berger 180 hybrids, long, with no issues. F class requires single shot. Both dropped into readily available stocks.
Also built a 7x6.5 on a Kelbly Prometheus long action. No problem.
I have not researched the medium actions. Do they have the rem 700 footprint? If not it seems it would be a hard sell to get stock manufacturers to build specific stocks.

I run a 7 saum with 175 berger elite hunters in a defiance xm action. The newer xm plus is the same footprint as the other medium actions out there. They have kinda been standardized.
