Measurments of latest batch of 6BR Lapua brass?

Since the last import, lot #4PH6046) measured larger than previous lots does anybody know if the new lot becoming available will stay the same or revert back to what it was previously, or heaven forbid become larger still??
My latest reamer from Dave Kiff reflects the previous change,,this insures that you don't get that annoying "Click" at the top of the bolt lift)and that is why I bought 500 pieces from Bruno's just to keep in reserve.,Should have bought 1000).
Anybody have any of the new stuff to measure?

Danny

Danny: I just recieved 200ea.,yesterday) shipped from 1st on the backorder list. Same lot # as you listed.,4PH6046) Mike.

Guys, the PH number on the outside of the box is the item number, not the lot number.

Open the box, the lot number is a six,6) digit number stamped in blue on the underside of the top flap.

I'm not real fond of Lapua doing their lot numbers this way, because there's no way to know if you are getting the same lot when you order 500, but it is how it is...

Chris...

My lot numbers are JJLLHK on both boxes. Mike.
Also, the lot numbers on the 2 boxes that I got before Christmas are EORISP on both.
Danny: What measurements are you looking at? Got the digital handy so ask away.

Measure back at the web this is where the difference was before. I think if you do a search for those threads it was almost a year ago.

Ok heres the stats on my lot #LECLSK of 500 pieces purchased from Bruno's near the end of summer.

LOT:LECLSK

WEIGHT: 125.4-126.3 grains weighed on my MXX-123

Average Dia. at Web: .46875 measured with my Mitutoyo digital micrometer

Danny: My earlier batch as well as the new batch both measure the same as yours. Don't have a digital scale so I can't be sure of the weight. HTH Mike.

Thanks, if the brass stays in the .468-.469 range no problems. The old stuff measured almost .471 I think so if you've had a reamer ground with the new brass in mind that old .471 brass would give you fits. Hopefully Lapua won't change back in mid stream.

I'm anxious to hear how you make out with the slugging project.

Getting my supplies together for a new rifle. Have some brass on order but it hasn't arrived yet. If someone would be kind enough to load a bullet on an unturned case. What is the O.D.?

Need to get a bushing and not sure of the dimensions on this new brass. Chamber is .272 no turn.

Thank you in advance.

You didn't say what bullet. It does make a difference.

I used new Lapua brass out of the box and a Lapua 105 grain Scenar.

Loaded round measured .26980 105 bullet alone measures .24260.

What I said above. The BIB 95 grain flatbase measures .24360 on the pressure ring. So take it all with a grain of salt. I'd think a .272 chamber would be ideal.

Hope this helps.

Danny

Sorry about that. I have a slew of bullets coming.
Berger: 105, 95, 88
Lapua: 105
Sierra: 107
Hoping to find some BIB 95gr. Just want to try them. So if someone has 50-100 they could spare let me know please.

Hopefully I can find some combinations that work.

So from your dimensions does a .268 and .267 sound right? Or do I need other besides these?

You might want to include a .269 then you have all the bases covered. Start with the .269 as the brass ages work down.

Good deal. Thanks.

On a separate subject. Other than the ease of working the necks. Any advantage of Tin vs. Carbide vs non coated bushings? Will one give you any advantages over the other? Longer neck life or anything like that?

Tin is way better than the uncoated steel. Little or no lube needed. Carbide in my opinion isn't necessary for neck bushings, to many $$$. For neck turning mandrels though it's the cats meow.
