What is the best epoxy compound to use to bed these stocks?Also can this stock be cut down in lenght with a regular band saw blade?

I am a real fan of Devcon Plastic Steel Putty - 10110. Don't let the term "putty" put you off, it is just like Marinetex in texture before it sets up. I have had no chipping or voids and it seems extremely durable and stable.

Powder Burnz, My guns are bedded in Marinetex. It is an Epoxy, similar to the Devcon that traveler likes. It is easy to use because it is the consistancy of P'nut butter and not runny, like some of the old AcraGlass applications. Once it cures it's as hard as steel and can be drilled and tapped. It is also resistant to most solvents, even gasoline and diesel fuel.

Chuckhunter, sorry, in my obscure unsocial kind of way I was suggesting Marinetex.

I've used it on many a stock. Ive even used it on an aluminum boat hull, outside light fixtures, a grill, and even as a wood filler. LoLz I luv the stuff.

J-B weld___Same chemicals as all of the other two part epoxies used to bed guns! This stuff stands up to oil, grease, gas, diesel, etc...what more could you ask for!

you can get the larger size from most tractor supplies for aorund $13...or smaller sizes from Wally World, Lowe's, home Depot for aorund $4-5...Hornadys one shot case lube makes an excellant release agent!

If you mix the quick set and the regular 1/2 to 1/2 it speeds the set time...

I have seen this stuff used to fix an engone block___as well as other application where it was drilled and tapped...
