mcmillan stock mod

Does anyone know if you can have an adjustable cheek rest installed into a finished McMillan Tooley MBR stock?

I know when I have a wood stock I can have it added but am curious if anyone knows who can work on this type. if not I will just build it up with so foam or maybe put a karsten cheek rest on it.

Most likely it can be done. The type of fill will determine if material will need to be added so the hardware had a solid base. Also, it will probably have to be sealed and painted. I would call McMillan and give them the specifics. They can tell you for sure in about 2 minutes.

There's a guy named Joe Ducos (whose handle on Snipers Hide is 'Stock Doc') who specializes in exactly this type of work. I had him modify a McM A5 for his adjustable cheekpiece, using Terry Cross' KMW Loggerhead hardware. It'll cost you $200 including return shipping, but his work is very good, and the McM factory won't do this sort of thing. If you want a stock with adj. cheekpiece from them, you've got to order it that way in the 1st place.

thanks all

flatlander, I reached out to stock doc and will probably send it off when the season dies down, or I have a couple weeks I don't plan on shooting.
