McMillan EDGE LV Round Tang vs. Square Tang

I have what I believe looks like a McMillan EDGE LV stock for a round tang action, as opposed to a square tang action.

Has anyone ever inlet a round tang EDGE stock for a square tang action? What were the results? Did it end up looking like 10 miles of bad road? Is it just not possible? If anyone has any experience doing this, please share your thoughts, pros and cons. Pictures are welcome...

Thanks to all replies,
Mike

If you are going to paint it then itll look just right. If not youre going to have a big glob of epoxy in the back. Ill show you a pic of the exact conversion youre trying to do tonite on a stock thats not painted yet

A round tang action like a 700 sits on top of the stock. A square tang action like a Bat sits inside the stock. With regards to the tangs.
If you use a square tang action in a stock designed for a round tang the sides and back of the tang are exposed. Its functional, but looks terrible. You cant bury the tang like your supposed to or the action will be too deep in the stock and the trigger will hit the trigger guard. The tang area of the stock is thicker and flat on top when designed for the square tangs. But if your going to paint it, you can build up the tang and make it look right.
