Mcmillan A1-3

Hello,

I am at the beginning of a build and just looking for information on the Mcmillan a1-3. I will be using the rifle primarily for predators. I typically shoot sitting down, with and without a monopod. My question is. How does this stock handle in this situation or is more designed to be shot prone off a bi-pod or bag??

I am still struggling on which direction I want to head with the build, ultralight carry rifle or mid-weight Tactical hunter.

Thanks Sean

That stock will be just fine. It all depends on how much you want to carry and how far you carry it. My calling rifles get lighter and lighter everytime I rebuild them.

The A1-3 is perfect for your scenario. It is designed for shooting offhand and has the comb raised as high as possible (bolt action limiting this). The buttstock has drop in it which, again, is designed for sitting/standing. If you want an ultra-light, get it with Edge Fill. Just make sure you have the proper inlet as it is difficult to re-inlet an Edge fill stock.
