I ordered two of them once, both had alot of taper in them. The slug would just about fall out the muzzle end bad. I would say a Green Mountain would be much better if they are still producing barrels like the two they sent me. Get a Benchmark,Shilen, etc if you want it to shoot.Does anyone have any experience with McGowan 22 Rimfire barrels I am thinking about getting one and would love to get some feedback.
I never had a 22 built by them but I had them build a 358 Norma Magnum on an 03 Remington action. Craftsmanship was superb, a 250 grain Hornady SP at 3,200 FPS 1" to 1 1/16" groups at 300 yards for many years and still as of last week.Does anyone have any experience with McGowan 22 Rimfire barrels I am thinking about getting one and would love to get some feedback.
Sweet Baby Jesus. Shooting groups with a 250 grain at 3200. I salute you Sir!I never had a 22 built by them but I had them build a 358 Norma Magnum on an 03 Remington action. I have one....... waited over a year to take delivery after ordering. They are nothing super special, shooting wise they are comparable to most ready available prefit barrels. I have run it both on a 10/22 and also in a PWS toggle bolt receiver. As others stated ...... WAY better barrel blanks by Muller, shillen, benchmark, lija.Does anyone have any experience with McGowan 22 Rimfire barrels I am thinking about getting one and would love to get some feedback.
