i have a remington .308 i used my OAL gaugewith 168gr nosler bullet i got 2.824 touching lands the lyman reloading book says set oal to 2.775 ehat do i set bullets at thanks any help is appreciated bill

Set it a 2.804", which will put you .020" away from the lands. Once you work up a powder load, experiment with seating depth to get best accuracy. If you are feeding from a magazine, make sure the 2.804" rounds will fit in the magazine (they should).

If you don't have a process on how to work up a load, this should be helpful to you.

Are you measuring COAL or CBTO with that OAL gauge? I'm hoping you and Lyman aren't speaking two different languages.

The guy at Lyman is not a working handloader - he a technician who doesn't load for the real world.

Seat your bullets to magazine length or to touch, which ever works for the way you shoot.

The Remington Magazine will take COALs of 2.825"-ish
