Maven Riflescope?

I am in the market for a light weight FFP hunting scope for a new light weight build. In doing so, I have been reading about Maven Riflescopes.
I am looking at the RS3.2 scope 5-30x50 in FFP with the CFR Mil reticle. This scope has ED glass, weighs 27.8 oz, lifetime warranty and can be had for $1600.
Has anyone been behind one or could give me their opinion about this scope or scope brand?

Thanks in advance.

Have you compared Tract to Maven? Or, just like your Tract?
Is that price high or low compared to Tract?
I haven't tried Maven. I have one Tract that I like all except the reticle seemed too thin for use as the sun went down. I emailed them and within 24 hours I was contacted by one of the John's personally and they emailed me with options to solve my problem. It seems that many people are having scopes made with their name on them. So I tend to support those I have experience with and find to be solid. I will say that I do not buy optics at full price - I look for deals. My scopes are all non-Chinese and include Sightron, Leupold, Tract, NF, Meopta, and Japanese Weaver - each has a place where it works other than a SWFA 2.5x10 that I don't care for.

I did see that Maven has a demo program that allows you to try their binoculars, spotting scopes, and rangefinder to see if you like them. I wish they did that on their scopes too because it is very disappointing these days to buy a scope and find that it doesn't fit my use. That is why I liked Tract because they never questioned my decision, but offered trading up or down to another model, or a full refund.

Your questions prompted me to research Maven a little more and I have to admit that I spoke out of place and that Maven has some products that look very interesting. I think I would like to try their 2x10x38. I also found that Maven and Tract were formed in 2013 and 2015 respectively. My shooting mostly involves varmints, deer hunting (often low light), and culling deer under a DNR permit (no light). The only time I need higher powers is ocassionally shooting steel, or rimfires at distances over 100 yds.

I wish my sample sizes were really high, but frankly, I can't afford that.

I have 2 of the 3.2’s. Sitting on my shelf still new in box’s. I’m actually selling them. They are moa so not what you want. But I do like them. I’ve pulled them outa the box and checked them out. For me, I just wanted to stay with what I’ve been running NF atacr, nx8, mark5. Other then that I think most would be happy and maven seems solid.

I’ve used their entry level binos for several years - the C1 10x42. Great glass and can recommend the binos. Had an eye cup that became sticky to screw in/out and they sent me two replacements promptly no charge. I’d like to try one of their scopes sometime.

There are not many lightweight ffp scopes. You are going to come across the razor LHT. I have one and the only good part is the weight. The turrets are mushy garbage and the reticle is meh. The next lightest one would be a athlon midas tac 30mm tube. I love my athlons for their price point. They weigh less than most since no illumination. No experience with that maven. I have the 2-10x38 maven. I have never mounted it, but seems good in the backyard. Leupold are basically always light weight. The vx5 was just a bit too expensive for me.

Little confused, your putting together a light weight hunting rifle and your gonna put an almost 2 lb scope on it? That goes to 30 power?

Frank
Are you only bashing, or do you also have a better suggestion?

FFP with mil Christmas tree style reticles, would also like illumination, under 30 ozs.

I don't think it's a bash at all, the same thought was going through my mind as well.
I guess everyone has a different definition of "lightweight". When I think of "lightweight" in terms of a scope, I think under a pound. To get there, I would stick to a 1" tube and ditch illumination(can't stand it, anyway.).
On my most recent quest for a lightweight scope, I ended up with a Leupold VX1 1-4.
8.9 oz, IIRC. Now that's lightweight! Couldn't be happier with it.

Should have added long range, as I am hopeful to be comfortable with this lightweight rig out to 600 yards. Not sure a 4x optic, without a reticle with windage holds, suits my needs/wishes.

I certainly don't expect my choice to suit many other folks. It goes on a rifle that will be used for everything from point blank to maybe 300 yards at the max. I was just mentioning it since it is one of the lightest and most useful scopes I've ever run across. The gun just feels good with it on top.
For a long range outfit, that changes the criteria considerably.

31.2 oz. Almost 2 lbs. I have a Gen III 6-36 on my PRS rig, but need something lighter, hence my question about the Maven.

I have a couple of the Arken EPL-4 scopes which I like. 4 - 16 and a 6 - 24. Both are available in MIL and come in at 24oz

I ordered a Maven last year , great scope but the reticle was so thick at full power I couldn't do it. Returned it with no hassle. Ya I knew it was FFP but dam it was huge.
