Mauser 1891 conversion....

I have an 1891 Mauser that has been "sporterized", I would really like to use this action. I have two questions: 1) is the bolt face acceptable for 6mmPPC? 2)can the action handle the pressures?

It will not handle the same pressure that a modern rifle action can. I have a '96 that likes the original chamberings (7mm Mauser, 6.5x55) but will not equal the velocities of the same rounds with loads worked up in a post - WWII action. If you are handloading you can work up a load but I would not fire a factory (Norma or ?) round in it. Your velocities will be a bit slower than normal by 100-200 fps.
