Matrix 146gr VLD

I picked up some Matrix 146gr VLD's last week. ( 6.5x47 Lapua )
Did some quick preliminary testing on seating depth, using the same powder load as I
use for my Berger 144gr loads. ( 36.7 Varget ) @ 2780fps
Loaded them .005 in the lands and .010 to .060 out in .010 increments.
At .040 out the seem to do the best so far @ .250 to .300 5 shot groups for 100 yds.
These bullets measure about 1.435 and look a lot like the Lapua Scenars, and not like a Berger
VLD's at all. I need to try them at some distance to see how the really fly, but im thinking that
they will do real well. They are a bit pricey and it took a while to get them shipped but they may work
well enough to make it worthwhile if they help my score...hmmmm TBD
Looks like that's quite a ways off still before we get to do any Competitions.

I hope that they work out for you. I consider them a little heavy for my 6.5x47L. However I have a cartridge in mind with more capacity that I’d like to try them in. Necked down 8mm Mauser would be about halfway between a 260 and 6.5-06.

I used to shoot them out of my 6.5 x 47's and they would bughole for me using 39.8 H4350. My wife shot a perfect score with 75-15V at 500 meters with them a couple years ago.
I have since moved on using their 162's in my 6.5 x 284's and these will shoot inside the 180 284 combo at 1000 yards.

They look like they have potential for sure. I have to mess with powders and seating some more.
Really need to try them at some distance. I Have great groups with the 139gr Scenars and these are real close in design.
