Matchmaster Weighing Error

Hi. I just purchased a Matchmaster from Sigma-Seller on Amazon.com. I received the unit yesterday (12-21-2025). I set up unit per instructions, deactivated transport safety per instructions, let unit warm up, and calibrated per instructions. The unit does not weigh correctly. I have an older RCBS Chargemaster 1500 and a A&D scale (I am a seasoned handloader for PRS Shooting). It calibrates ok, then I check weight of test weights and they read perfect. This checks w other scales. But when I then use powder tray it weighs between a 1/2 gn to almost 2 gns high (it varies). I verified tray weight on 1500 and A&D scale - same. But Matchmaster is high. I have calibrated the unit multiple times, turned off, then on, and repeated. Same problem. I first noticed when I checked first powder charge (30 gns Varget). It did not match on A&D scale which I always use to fine tune charge weight. I got this new Matchmaster to hopefully eliminate the extra weighing. But it is not working correctly. Anyone have any ideas? Crazy that the test weights weigh perfect, but the powder tray and charge way off. Thank you.

This is a shot in the dark, but here goes. Separate the Matchmaster from your other scales by a foot or more. See if the problem persists. I know about EMI from career involvement. I put my Chargemaster next to my Creedmoor scale to compare the two and they interfered with each other. Of course, you're using different scales than I was, but I wonder if RCBS or their manufacturer might not be so savvy about EMI.

RCBS will tell you most issues are related to static.
Wipe everything down with static sheets and give it another shot.

Good idea to try and police the static and EMI issues no matter what, but I'll ask a back-up question....

If you went back to the check weights after you got the error with the pan, did those repeat or did they change?

Move that fabric to just under the front feet and level the scale. I can see that the bubble isn’t showing level. Anything applying pressure to the outside can make it deviate. Not saying this is going to fix it but it has to be level and nothing touching on the bottom, sides, top.

I have been using a Matchmaster since they first arrived on the scene and it has worked perfectly. Follow suggestions above for separation from other appliances , leveling and static control. RCBS has a way of correcting user errors in a hurry. Whatta Hobby!
