Hi fellow competitors,
I'm interested in a "space gun" upper for high power competition. I know about WOA and Compass Lake, is there anywhere else I should be looking? I would appreciate any info on mechanical sights as well. Thanks in advance for any help or input.

I shoot a 6mm turbo 40 from Robert Whitley (6mm AR. com). I have two uppers and am on my third barrel now. They are very accurate and reliable. Good barrel life too. If you want something with better performance than 223, this is the ticket. For 600, a 107MK at about 2850 shoots very well.
For sights, go with a Warner rear and Stallings Machine Right Sight front.

Go with a heavy wall receiver. The standard receiver has too much flex after the side charging cut is made.

PCrowe is giving some good advice here. And yes the Warner Tool (just get the #2) rear sight http://warner-tool.com/sights.htm is the ticket in my opinion along with the "RightSight" front sight. http://stallingsmachine.com/

Wooger, I think your best bet would be a colt AR with the short 16" barrel. You get the best of both worlds shorter distance of front sight from your eyes and the best highpower length barrel 16"

Well Mattt, it is well known that the shorter the barrel is the higher the score at distance. Are you coming out on Sunday for the final match?

No I have to go get my taxes done sun morning. Great tax guy works weekends (H&R Block). Hope you guys finish in the money. While you guys are shooting Friday I will be replacing a sewage ejector in a Chinese restraunt in San Francisco. Got to love plumbing ;D

I have been very satisfied with my two WOA/WOP match rifle uppers, one in .223 and one in 6RAT. For sights, there are a few choices. Warner, Phoenix Precision and RPA are excellent for the rear sight. For the front sight, I share one Rightsight between the two uppers with a separate sight base mounted on each barrel.
