Masterpiece Arms...who’s got one?

Considering purchasing an MPA production rifle...very reasonably priced for what seems, to me, to be high quality components. Then there’s the 3/8” guarantee. I would appreciate hearing some firsthand experiences, and show me your target pics if you’ve got them... thanks.

Jody;
I just purchase a MPA BA Competition Chassis in a 6mm Dasher. I have only shot 10 rounds through it so far do to the Michigan weather. She's heavy, I do like the 60° bolt throw on the Curtis action, it is very smooth. What I don't care for and I see that MPA changed/updated the design of the cheek riser so it is easily removed when cleaning the rifle. The cheek riser it gets in the way of the bore guide alignment with the bore. MPA will modify/update my cheek riser for a small fee I'm thinking of having them update the chassis. Overall, I'm liking the rifle so far, to me it is different in a good way. I also have the WTO switch barrel lug feature as well on the rifle, I like the concept, someone was thinking out of the box.

willbas....very nice! I’m looking at one of their production guns at about $3500...only thing I’m gonna change is barrel length. Looking at your gun, I don’t think I’d be comparing apples to apples. Right? Did MPA put this gun together for you?

I have two of their Hybrid Chassis and like them, I shoot em in FTR competition. My actions and barrels are custom and done by my local gunsmith (Titan Precision). I've never had one of their complete rifles that they build but I did see a guy at my local range with one he bought from them. It was a 6.5 creedmoor and he told me he was very satisfied with it, that's the only complete rifle I've seen that they built. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

I held one in 6.5 creed yesterday it was 3200 ( I think) and damn if it isn’t the best deal in rifle I’ve ever held in my hands. I honestly think you’d be hard pressed to build it yourself for that price. I do wish the barrel was an m24 though. Mpa stuff is really nice. I was a bit blown away that they didn’t spring for a decent mag though (magpul)

What does the mag have to do with it. They run reliably, even with 6br cases. I own 4 different brands.

I run MPA stocks and have for quite a while. I have had very good customer service from them. I think their factory rifles are a pretty good deal and I have seem them shoot well. I will keep sending them my business.

As for the new removable checkrest, you can order it from them and do it yourself. I got them and honestly it doesn't really solve the issue. If you really need to move it for cleaning, get a folding stock.

As for the included Magpul magazine. It's free, take it and run. Magazines are on you.

They run with br cases until they don’t......It has something to do with it. It’s a 3000$+ rifle that comes with a 15$ mag. An accurate, better yet an accurate with tuned lips would have been a better fit.

I think you need to get over this. it's not helping the OP. It's his question we are responding to. If you want a different magazine, add one to your cart and order it.

My Magpul AI mag, which I tuned, is the most reliable magazine I have. Runs 6BR/Dasher/6.5x47/etc like a champ.

The op asked for an opinion on the mpa production rifles. I made one mention of the mag, which was logical, it would be nicer to have a top tier quality magazine at that price point. After praising the rifle extensively. Then you and another guy who also didn’t read what I initially posted have something to say about the wrong thing. It’s not about your equipment. I don’t care what you run. I’m happy it works for you. (It’s cheap and I’ve had trouble with them). You should lighten up dude you’ll live longer. But if you need to talk down to folks for your self esteem I’ll be glad to take it, I’m all for helping my fellow man.

Have been shooting my new Vudoo in the MPA BA Competition Chassis for about two months now. Absolutely love the rig! Thinking about replacing my Bergara B-14 HMR stock with the same chassis as well.

I have one of their Competition chassis with a Kelbly Atlas tactical action in it. Very comfortable to get behind and use. I've got a Manners PRS with mini chassis for a Tikka and that is also nice, but the MPA feels a bit more comfy.

I know your looking for feed back on there entire build but I can only comment on the chassis. So far I’ve been extremely pleased with the features and comfort at a good price point. There finish is second to none. If there rifle work is anything like there chassis then you have nothing to worry about and for a 3/8 guarantee that tells me I wouldn’t even be looking for feedback. Just grab it and go. It’s tough to build a good rifle for that price!!

I have 2 rifles that were complete from MPA and another one on order. They are excellent! They run perfectly and easily meet the accuracy guarantee with my handloads. My 6mm GT with a 26" M24 barrel is heavy and shoots great. My 6.5 Creedmoor with 24" barrel is the most accurate 6.5 Creedmoor I have. I ordered the MPA PA PMR competition rifle in .223 which they build for $1999.99. I am sure it will be great too. The target with the ruler is the 6mm GT - 5 shots at 200m, the other target is the 6.5 CM - 5 shots at 100m with all the shot data for the 5 shots. I don't think you can go wrong with an MPA rifle - my opinion is that they are the best buy for what you get and they do meet the accuracy guarantee.

I have a MPA build in .284 Winchester with 28" MPA heavy contour barrel. Is long Action for long 180 bullets. Will hold 1/2-3/4 moa at 600 easily, if i do my part. Very Slight vertical as heats up, over 20rds, 140F. weighs 17lbs kitted out. Is backup for Kelby truck axle F-open gun.
Also have a hybrid chassis 6br. Extremely accurate. MPA is just a quality co.

I live a few miles from MPA. When IBS decided to have a tactical class I went to their shop, told them what I wanted and they built me a chassis type rifle, set-up to shoot off of a bench. Curtis-action, 6.5x47, I changed to a 6BRX, just a personal preference. Nice accurate well thought out rifle chassis. Won several 600 & 1000 yd matches last year with this rifle. MPA+++
