Marlin XL7 standards

Can anyone help on this one ? Are Savage 10 and 110 barrels compatible with Marlin xl7and Mossberg ATR receivers? And are Marlin receivers compatible with Winchester 70 stocks? The idea is of course to use prefit barrels threaded for Savage rifles and use a Choate tactical stock designed for the Win 70 on an xl7 rifle. Thank you for your attention.

You will likely hear a Savage will fit the Marlin, or it won't. Seem's the bolt recess is deeper on the Savage, so there might be a problem. I wanted to try it, but having read about that, decided against it. Ron.

Wyowindage is correct ,savage ,marlin bolts have diff depths to the bolt face , the swape can work sometimes , sometimes itll blow the case and more apart .
This is one time headspace gauges can get you in trouble. Just because a prefit for one can headspace doesnot mean its safe . A barrel can be short chambered and if you are doing this for the first time , you can still get the headspace correct but have a good portion of the cartridge sticking out of the barrel ( unsupported) . The barrel breech should be about .005 from the front of the bolt ,then check or set headspace. Sav bolts vary in depth but most seem .112 to .125 .

Thanks for the reply. As I see it, the case protrudes about .125 from the breech, so just the extractor groove and the rim are unsupported. If the bolt recess on the Marlin is shallower than that, there shouldn't be any problem. On another hand, should the recess be deeper, we would run into headspace problems. So you guys think the threads are compatible?
