It's a 30-30 and they are reloads. cci 200. Rifle is a friend of mine I reload for. I'm going to take the bolt apart & clean it. It's an old gun & that bolt has probably never been out of that rifle. What caliber? Is it reloads or factory ammo?
Thanks Uncle G. I will do that when I get my hands on it.Take your bolt apart and remove the firing pin. Marlins usually have a two part FP and over time oil builds up and causes the FP to “drag”. Clean it very good and your problem might go away.
Thanks for the info. The firing pin in the Marlin 336 'floats', there is no "firing pin spring". Yes, the firing pin could be fouled in its channel in the bolt. I think what you mean is the hammer spring. Brownells has nothing as far as 'original parts', unless you want something for a AR or a 1911. Brownells only has reduced power spring kits. Wolff Gun Springs only offers reduced power. Are you properly full length sizing? Are the primers seated to the bottom of the primer pocket? Ruger now owns Marlin, and I've not seen any new parts offered, yet. I don't know what number of the reloading rules it is, but the rule says; "friends don't reload ammo for friends".
