Marlin 25 22lr bolt screw needed

M25boltscrew.jpg

about the size of a flattened BB Holds in the striker assy ....Wife's 22lr was hanging up firing so i took bolt apart and yeah, lost the screw! Grrrr. my bad!

anybody have one i can buy off you or a link to get another?

Marlin / Remington will send you one . At least they use to . If not numrich has them .
Last resort is to try others to check tpi or re tap to a common tpi and get a bag full at your local hardware store

ill give Marlin a call, would you know if it would be std or metric?

i have ordered from Numrich's in the past

If you have an Ace Hardware near you try there, they have rows of speciality screws including gunsmith screws. The cabinets are a battleship gray and have literally hundreds of drawers in them. I have been able to find any speciality screw I looked for there.

Don't just look under the gunsmith screws, there is a fair chance that the screw is a standard screw and it may be in a drawer that is not in the gunsmith screw section. I am always surprised at the variety of misc and oddball screws they have on hand.

If you can figure out what thread you have you and a mill file can make about any head shape you need.
Alternatively. The missing screw didn't leave this plane of existence. It's still in the area.

This

Get a magnet, The telescoping kind and run it underneath workspaces crevices whatever, You would be surprised how many times it works, You might even find other stuff you lost! :p I also use compressed air to blow under things and a lot of times the lost screw or part will show up.

it certainly looks like this one?

i just found a gunsmith @ 20 min ride from here and took him the bolt to redrill and tap with a std screw. he said a few weeks. $25-30 bucks.

it is very proprietary. if that screw came from a marlin bolt like pictured it may not be too late to get

if ya want to pop it into a piece of cardbord in an envelope?
just write to hand sort on envelope and it should get here for a stamp?

Ok I will try and send it today. I am pretty sure it is the striker screw. I used to shoot Marlins and had 3 880SQ's and a bunch of parts
