Market for AR15 in 6mmBR?

Is there a market for a high end AR in 6mmBR?
The leade would need to be changed since the OAL can only be 2.28- 2.30 if fed from mags.
Maybe built on a Vltor or other thicker receiver.

ETA- not built on a Oly upper, It will use a custom bolt and extension.

I am already machining enhanced 5.56, 6.8 and 7.62x39 AR15 bolts from 9310 alloy and have already designed a bolt and extension to work with a .473 rim in a standard AR upper receiver. It is not .050 larger dia like OLYs it will work in any AR15 receiver and with any carrier.
The extension has been designed to make a more rigid barrel connection and it is easy enough to make them .001 or .002 oversize for a better fit in the receiver.
If a Grendel mag is used the 6mmBR can double stack.
Just thinking it could open the door to more powerful rounds in the AR for highpower, varminting or whatever.
Slick-sided uppers would need the port opened up some but that is a 2 minute cycle in a CNC.
More cncs should be here in 3 weeks so by sometime in Aug I should have some prototypes in testing.

You pose an interesting question. As an experienced high power shooter, I don't see a very large market for such a rifle. Service rifle shooters couldn't use it. Match rifle shooters who are using the AR platform in a spacegun would be potential customers. There are plenty of other rounds out there competing for shooters who want to take advantage of the higher BC rounds using 6mm bullets. Opening the bolt face to take the bigger round does present problems. The smaller AR-15 mag also presents issues with over all length for rounds that must function thru the magazine. Going to the AR-10 platform is probably a more cost effective way to go. Modifing magazines would be easier as well. The bigger mag would allow for seating the longer high BC bullets further out and still stay at magazine length. Now you come in competition with the even higher BC 6.5mm rounds, however. The 6.5X47 Lapua, 260 Rem, or even the new 6.5 Creedmore offer longer barrel life and a large selection of lighter 120 gr bullets for the 200 and 300 yd stages and the heavier 140 gr ones for the 600 yd stage, all offered by quite a few different makers. For NRA long range you would be competing with custom action or blue printed Rem and Savage action bolt guns with significantly greater accuracy potential out to 1,000 yards. Probably very little market there. The same only more so with benchrest shooters. Now for long range varmet shooters the superior accuracy and light recoil of the 6mm BR might attract some sales, only time would tell. Another market might be for tactical match competition. Those guys like the AR platform and as much accuracy as they can get with light recoil. Building some kind of AR in 6mmBR has already be done. Creating a market for such a rifle, not so much.
