Mark Niezabitowski leading IBS 600 Yard Shooter of the Year

Congratulations to all. Hope they can all find the time to travel some / shoot and keep their rankings up there. 3 great shooters in that picture for sure.

Steve

Ever think that they might not "fade away" if all future shoots are cancelled?

You guys need to think like 1/2 of North America and make Florida your destination in the winter for a shoot. We will keep trying to make the shoots rewarding, fun and find a way to clear up any issues you might create. We are far from perfect but sure can try. It's kind of like keeping the virus away.

Just talking with Mark today. He has a build coming from Alex Wheeler that WILL make him even more competitive. It will not be immediate as the build takes time and then the testing starts. I do not know Marks' status as to availability and financial means to travel the country doing shoots. Do know he has a new Ford 4500 Powerstroke being specially built for his trailer and bed-camper use. Maybe he will take his upcoming new Wheeler build and move around to distant shoots?

Mark said today that for now he plans on sticking around and learning from me. That means his learning curve is stopped. As an "old coot" with type A- blood prone to virus and over age 75, the wife is strongly suggesting I avoid our club shoot this weekend. Think I'll suggest he move around and up his learning curve.

Thank you Bart for the update.
I noticed John Granauro and Alex Lynn are tied for 3rd place.
I think this year all of us at Manatee will be right up there.
Thank you
Al. B

oh please oh please let this happen to a Savage shooter (and great guy) and also don't minimize the knowledge dispatched by Larry "savagedasher'

Mentioning Larry T. - SavageDasher comes to mind this recent story. Now remember Larry has been banned from this forum and his ideas are now missing on here. Well I had that trigger failure during the February match, thought I fixed it and found I was wrong.

Many here had no clue why sear, weight and cleaning adjustments did not work. The trigger failure is constant with any chambering of a bullet that touches the rifling. Otherwise, empty chambering, case chambering and bullets with a jump do not have a cocking problem. Mentioned that to Larry T. and he immediately told me the answer and then called Eric Bostrom to tell him. Eric has the rifle.

The pressure against the bolt with a jam pushes the back of the bolt up a teeny bit, losing contact with the sear and cocking piece. There may be multiple solutions but that sure is a rational explanation of why the Stolle will not cock when chambering only a jammed bullet in a case. Larry T. has been excoriated here for his opinions and knowledge. Only thing is I feel this forum is the lesser because of it.

Sure he is a bit of a "character" but a dedicated character to shooting and a continued help to many.

Here's Larry sitting in a chair helping a young shooter during a match. Typical of how good he is.

One influential member did try to get him back. So far, "no".

I just spoke with SavageDasher. He is working hard to improve safety at Manatee. He just likes it when people shoot and does a lot to promote shooting and engage young shooters to participate.
