Marine Tex or ??

Never used pro-bed. Ive used dye from brownells and from West Marine (gel coat dye) and Devcon, marine-Tex and Jb will never be "black" just a darker "dark grey."

Donny, let me help you out and make it easy. To answer your question: what is your favorite
Your going to get answers from peanut butter to quikrete. Devcon and Marine-Tex and the most popular. Jb weld is the easiest to obtain. (There isn't a store that I've found nearby that has marine-Tex).

What do you add to make it black: dye!

However marine Tex, jb, devcon will only turn to a dark grey. Acraglass becomes an opaque black. None will be black.

Looked up via Google pro-bed epoxy bedding and found:image.jpeg

Now THAT looks black to me. If your looking for a bedding that will match for appearance purposes, I would go with pro-bed. I've found all of the bedding compounds are about the same ease to work with.
Hope this helps

Just like your shining shoes... Apply, let it dry and buff. I like to repeat application to make sure I get everything covered. For convenience, you can use a soft bristle brush to apply...just like you use for shoes.

Quick question, what is the easiest way to remove the Polish when finished?

When your finished applying or when your finished bedding and cleaning up?

After I've applied and allowed to dry, I buff using a terrycloth. Reapply again to make sure I get 100% complete and total coverage. Allow to dry and buff off again.

After I've let the barreled action set up (minimum 24 hours. Trust me, just walk away and DONT think about it. Don't touch it, don't look at it, don't think about touching it or looking at it :)). Clean up your barrel and action using your favorite bore cleaner and oil. You can also use Iso. alcohol.
