March Scope

NOT the 8 x 80. I have one and it starts getting fuzzy and dark around 60x. From what I have heard the 6 x 60 might be the ticket.

I like my 10-60X. When weather conditions are right, I can turn it up to 60X no worries. If I have the modifier disk in, it gets a bit darker on 60X, but not much without the disk in place.

I only use about 22 to 25 power on my NF Benchrest. Is the march is more clear on higher powers?

For sure the March is lighter than the equivalent NF, where there is one, by about 10-11 ounces. I like the flexibility the weight savings gives me with barrels, actions, stocks etc where there are limits such as F-Open and F-T/R. Clarity can be effected by many factors. In my case, I never went much above 20X without some murky stuff in the field of view. I attributed the "murk" to humidity and mirage until I had a cataract removed from my shooting eye and now I use 40X where I had used 20X and have used 60X on occasion. I like the glass in the March and I also like the tactical MTR-1 reticle March offers much better than the R2 ranging reticle I had on my NF BR scope the March replaced. There are lots of good reasons to make a different choice than I did. NF and March are both great scope, but I am glad I got my March 10X60.

I like my March Tactical 10-60 w/MTR-1 much better than the Nightforce 12-42x56 NXS it replaced. I've been a long time Nightforce guy, but this March is definitely a step up in every way. I shoot F-TR regularily at 600 and 1000 yds.

Anyone can argue the high cost or the 5 year warranty, but anyone that complains about the scope itself neither has one or used one.

I have used one, and I can't justify the extra expense. But the guys that have them like them, so, to each their own.

Also, well said!! We missed you at Lodi, Erik.

I have owned one NF 12-42 NSX and 3 NF 12-42 BR scopes; and presently have a March 12-60X, all used at 500M groundhog matches. The March is great glass, but it ain't worth nearly twice as much as a NF.

And, with a March you get a five year warranty, valid only to the original owner.
