Does anyone know if March will do a reticle change? I have messaged them but it may take 3 days for a response...thought I would ask here to see if anyone knows or has done so. Thanks

Yes. They do. I just contacted them the other day on this. See attached email I got from them.

Forgot about them being in Japan...got a response from them.

The scope has to be sent back to Japan and they can only change reticles within the same type of reticle...

Their response:
"Thank you for your inquiry and also for being a March Scope owner.

For a reticle change, the scope needs to be shipped back to our factory in Japan.

The inner structure of the scope is different according to the reticle type.

We can change the reticle between MTR xxx reticles, but unfortunately we can't change from MTR-1 to a fine dot reticle.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused."

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you.

Kindest regards,

Mari Morita

Yes, I just got a response from them a little bit ago and they can only change reticles within the same reticle type. I wanted to change from an MTR-1 reticle to a fine crosshair with dot and they cannot do that. Also, the scope has to be shipped back to Japan, so total cost with shipping may be cost prohibitive.

Thanks
Gene

I sent back my March-X 5-50X56 to get the reticle changed from the MTR-2 to the MTR-5. I had had the scope for 6-7 years and my eyesight had gotten worse with age, to the point I could no longer see the MTR-2 central dot. The MTR-5 is the exact same reticle but made for old geezers. They did the change and sent it back very promptly and it worked out great for me.

I believe they will only do this for the SFP riflescopes. Also, as indicated above, they can only change the reticles with the same type. For instance, all the MTR reticles are etched glass. The non-MTR reticles in these scopes are actual wires. If you look closely at the specs for the riflescopes, the ones with the etched reticles are 2mm longer than the ones with the wire reticle.

Since March scopes last for a very long time, you want to make sure you get the proper type of reticle if you ever have to have it changed at some point in the future. Remember: wire for wire, etched glass for etched glass.

I was very nervous when I sent my 10-60 across the big pond.
USPS had it there (from Colorado) in 3 days.
March was fast on the repair and the communication from Mari was exemplary.

Today, I would not hesitate for a second to send one back.

thanks for the response. Do you remember the basic amount of what it cost to send it there?

I do not, but stand by and I will look to see if I kept any notes.

BTW, when my scope was returned, the glass was remarkable. They really went through EVERYTHING!
After that experience, I sold all my NF scopes except a really solid BR model and bought March HM's for every comp rifle in the stable.

edit
I do not have any records for the cost to ship, however, I do not recall it being expensive and the good folks at March paid the return postage.
