March scope question.

If I understand it correctly March has 10 year warranty on their scopes. So what happens in situations where the 2nd or 3rd owner of said brand needs warranty or just checkup on a benchrest scope?
 
I had a second hand scope repaired earlier this year, they took care of it no problem, the sending back to japan is a little bit of a pita

I bought a used March 10-60 and it had a hiccup.
I got hold of March and came completely clean with them. I straight up told them I was at least the second owner and I had no idea of the scopes actual age.
From the moment they received the scope, the communication was exemplary in every way. They were honest and agreed with my assessment that the vertical adjustment were not at 100%. In the end, they did all the repairs and shipped it back to me at no cost. As icing on the cake, they also replaced the glass at no cost. The said, something like "it's not up to our current standard" or something like that.

March is a standup outfit and I would not hesitate to purchase another scope with their label.

@Mulligan, how long from the time you sent it, till the time you got it back?
That's what I've heard takes a bit of time.

Per the directions from the good folks at March in Japan, I sent the scope USPS. The scope was delivered to Japanese Customs in about four days. It was about another three or four days before the postal service (I have no idea what the formal name is) delivered the scope to March. They had the scope for about ten days and then shipped it back. I think my scope was back in my hands in four weeks.

I own 17 March scopes. I had one used one fail on me 2 years ago. I was the 3rd owner and the scope was at least 9 years old. Sent it back to Japan. They had to replace the eyebox and the only money I had to pay was sending it to Japan. Deon took care of everything else free of charge. Unlike Leupold and NF, Deon won't lie to you and make up an excuse of why their scope fu**ed up.
