March scope 10x60 ??????

I have read only a couple threads on these scopes. Does anyone have some good feedback? What recticle is more prevalent 1/16 or 1/8 dot? I want to put it on a 6x47 Lapua for 1000 yd shoots. Thanx in advance.

The 'search' function will yield more info. And you might also wish to use that utility on the Benchrest Central forums.

There is one big question that you will have to answer. Is the March 10x60 scope worth TWICE the money compared to a Nightforce 12x42BR?

That's a 'tuff' one to answer. I'm building a new rifle and did the same as you; read all the threads I could find on the March scopes and then when I found a name in one of those threads I e-mailed that person. Simply stated, I asked the question: Was there enough quality in the March scope to make a 100% increase in cost justifiable? No, was the answer. Since you cannot go down the street to a 'stocking' dealer and look through both scopes, the decision is kind of difficult. It was for me anyway. I ened up going with a GREAT scope at half the price. This will be my fourth NightForce.

Well, its all relative...is the quality of the glass on the March worth the extra cost over the NF? Actually, I looked through every model of March scope available last summer and can say that the NF benchrest has clearer glass. The March is more on par with the Leupold LCS series scopes, just a little better. But, and this is a big BUT, NF scopes have failed many times over when it comes to holding POA, the people at March have made this a primary goal to solve. NF has not. Now if you are not a competitive BR shooter, then this is really all moot as the requirements of a prairie dog scope etc., are not even close to that of a BENCHREST scope. I'm not Bashing NF, because I really love their scopes, even use one on a BR rifle. March was formed to appeal to the Benchrest market, and have provided a scope that is supposed to be 100% reliable. They haven't been around long enough to know if they are perfect, but they are doing what no other scope company has been willing to do. I guess you just have to ask yourself if its worth the extra money for no changes in POA...that's what March is really all about.

Blue eyed bear.... Compare it to the NSX not the BR for a fairer comparison. You know, side focus to side focus???

Thank you for the post. I have been talking to a few other BR shooters about this. I am a BR shooter as well. I do have an issue with paying $2400 -$2600.00 for a scope. When NF are like was stated about 1/2 as much,BR 1300, NXS 1800). But to hear shooters state that going from one scope to a March and taking 60 thou off a group. Then putting old scope back on and groups went up in size 50 to 60 thou, put the March on shoot- groups went back down 50 to 60 thou. That's a lot just from scope performance. The warranty of 5 yrs is policy from Japan as I understand. Less wt and better point of impact are super for the long range shooter,BR). I am just looking for info about the performance from other shooters who have used these scopes.
Thanx again....

And the warranty for the MARCH?????

Per Kelby's web page it's 5 years Limited to original owner and has to be shipped to Japan for any work.

I'll stick with my Premier Boosted Leupolds and my Nightforce BR.

Isn't Nikon, Weaver, etc. etc made in Japan? I don't recall them limiting a warranty to 5 years.

Policy is 5 years if made in country, all the others have support service here in the USA, their market, which covers the warrenty. March is just a seedling starting to sprout in the scope world, it will be awhile before they grow to that size, if they do at all. Just think back a few years to the new names on the line, Sightron and Nightforce.

Please.... don't lay out the Japanese policy. This is the policy MARCH has chosen. Have you heard of JUN Technologies? Japanese company. No 5 year warranty. Before I posted this, I did check with a reputable Japanese Company to question this Japanese mandate of a five year warranty. They say it is untrue and can't imagine who would say this. As for the once unknowns, Sightron and Nightforce, their warranties haven't changed. Don't get me wrong, MARCH may well be a good scope, but at that price, the lack of a lifetime warranty does not IMO say much for the companies belief in their product. It's probably more like the custom actions we use. Some say BAT is the best, some STOLLE, some STILLER. MARCH owners say their scope is the best. More wood has been won with the unknowns than with the MARCH scopes. DeSimone's 1000 yard record was set without using a MARCH scope.

My shooting buddy bought a March 10 X 60 last summer and loves it. He also has,3) Nightforces 12 X 42 br's with double dot. He feels the March is well worth the extra money and a lot better than the Nightforce's. He tried to buy another March 10 X 60 last week and there is at least a,3) month wait. I guess the only problem with the March 10 X 60 is getting one.
