March 10-60 scope

I am looking to try and buy one of those March 10-60 scopes that have been featured on this site.

I understand that there are only prototypes right now. I would just like to get info on who to speak with to get one when available or on a waiting list.

Any help is appreciated.

Bobby

vegeta,

ditto edwin as Jim Kelbly is who you need to call.

better save your Christmas money as this scope will likley be in the $2100 to $2400 price range.

keep us posted on your decision to purchase. I believe there are only 3 March 10x60 scopes in the states right now and Kelbly's is expected to receive 100 scopes real soon.

cb <*)))>{

call jim at kelblys,i've got one ordered, said they should start rolling in around the first of feb,i'm 40th on the list so he said mine would be here around the 1st of march,as of last week there were 48 people on the list, had to put $1000 down payment to guarantee getting one,the cost is $2400,hope it's gonna be worth it,jim has one of the prototypes up there to look at if you're anywhere close, gonna take my nightforce up next week & do a side by side comparison, will let u know how it checks out...r

That is a lot of $ for a scope with only a 5 year warranty to the "original owner" only in my opinion.

tenring, that is a good point. Wonder how financially stable this company is? I would continue on the "wait and see list" on this one. Dealing with a company like this requires patience.

I learned long ago that I don't have enough of an adventureous streak to be an early adopter, especially of a product that costs this much dinero.

Personally, I'll wait and see. There are other good scopes out there that have already proven their quality and their longevity in the marketplace. Besides, at my skill level I seriously doubt if a March will make me a National Champion if a Nightforce won't. ;)

It wouldn't bother me if it were twice the price.
It's a purpose built item in few numbers..

But it just doesn't meet my purpose as well as Leupold Mk4s.
Oh well

i agree, they should have a better warranty for that price, hopefully i'll never need the warranty, like my nightforce but even it went south on me at the state championships this year, they fixed it with no problems & it's as good as new, don't know much about the company making the march scope except they made all the prototypes for the nightforce & where corners were cut to save money, they didn't cut those corners on the march,if it performs like they say it does it'll be well worth the money

Your Quote:
"they made all the prototypes for the nightforce & where corners were cut to save money, they didn't cut those corners on the march"

How are you coming up with that information????????????

Donovan Moran

That's what I was wondering. If they cut any corners they sure cut'em good is all I got to say. Bill

that bit of info was provided by lou murdica who did extensive testing on the scope, some of the corners that were cut were no internal plastic parts & the lenses are all glued in instead of bedded because of reduced warranty costs, that's what went wrong with my nightforce, the bedding came loose on the front lens, talked to several other shooters who have had this happen, not saying this is a scope for everyone but why knock it until we see what happens, the prototypes have performed well so i guess we'll just have to wait & see what happens

what do you mean just wrote it?are you saying the nightforce lenses aren't bedded?or that the march aren't glued in?i have no reason to doubt what was told to me,look at the march's win record in major matches, that should speak for itself,if you don't want one don't buy one,why rain on everyone elses parade?

you got me thinking so i e-mailed lou & deon optical & asked them straight out, will post answers when i receive them, figure that's the only way we'll find out for sure

I don't know that it's true, but I always suspected that NF out-sourced their BR scope design. Makes sense actually.

I think I remember seeing it posted somewhere. I don't know if it's true or not, and I'm very curious to hear the responses you receive.

dmoran, do you have any solid info that would suggest this is definitely not so, and if so please elaborate.

Hi All

Very interesting comments made here.
