Mandrel "kit" for neck tension... Where to buy ? .223 Remington

Trying to help a friend find a mandrel set for loading his .223 Remington . He does not turn necks so this is for neck tension only after FL sizing w/ out expander ball. Just looking for something basic, does not have to be the latest greatest . Rifle is not for competition, Remington 700 Varmint factory rig...just shoots paper trying to wring out all the accuracy he can from his loads. Hoping to find a "Kit" so he can buy from one vendor. Thanks for any help.

I may not be understanding what you mean by kit. I use a TiNitride coated expander mandrel and die body from 21st Century Reloading. What other components are you looking for in the kit?

These may be a consideration when they hit the market...

For something just basic that does a darn good job without breaking the bank is the Lyman M die. I can't afford good dies for everything I load for so RCBS or Redding full length without the expander will have to do. I just use the Lyman M die on those. Once you have a long & short body the expander plugs are only about 7 bucks a piece. Lyman usually has free shipping around Thanksgiving and the first couple of weeks in December. Lots of good lube is still the key.

Cheapest, simplest, quickest is Lee collet die and neck size only after FL size. In fact, I don't even FL size my 223 brass (bolt gun) and it doesn't grow, shoots tiny groups, get dozens of cycles on the brass and still no split necks. What's not to like?

I will give him a call,I just checked the website. Looks like quality stuff there . Thanks

Yes its very nice. Not saying the others are not but the porter die takes $3 mandrels in any size down to the ten thou. If you do a search here theres been plenty of reviews on them the past couple years
