Hi guys,
What tools does a guy need to make his own bullets?
Jacketed match type bullets is what I'm asking about.
How difficult of a process is it?
Not even close for expense, or the time frame for learning. heres one for you. I had a shooter come over on way to match to show him does and dont's for bullet making spent an afternoon with him while he made some. he went to match following sat. and sun. and won. went home set everything up a couple of calls with questions. next went to shamrock shoot shot a .1600 agg and won. back home few more calls goes to super shoot and wins either lv or hv I can't remember which. time frame from pickup end of Feb. till end of May ..... won at all 3 matches this is as hard as you want to make it, the ones that don't make it difficult succeed...You'd be happier giving yourself a Pre-Frontal Lobotomy. My guess would be $5000 and a two year learning curve before you made the first bullet you would be seen shooting at a match.
What’s on your mind to make?
Sounds like Bart !I always say you need a good stubborn streak to stick with it long enough to make a BR grade bullet
As someone who has done this for several years trying to make the best match bullets I can, I would suggest just trying the many commercial made bullets to find what you are looking for.Well I’m not sure. More so to see if I can do it and also to experiment with designs in relation to fur damage.
Om gosh that’s what happened to Bart!Handling lead isn't bad as long as you don't lick your hands. melting lead to cast is way worse.
