I tried making some 6.5 Creedmoor brass out of 22-250, but the necks are short, and I'm not crazy about the need to fireform, which takes even more range time, components, and barrel life. Tried making the brass out of 308, but the necks were long and thick, which I can deal with.
However, even with a thin coat of lube, a lot of the cases were coming out with crushes and creases in the shoulder area. I have Hornady as well as Redding FL type S dies, but it seems to happen with either. Do I need to do an intermediate step sizing?
Suggestions?
