Major IRS Ammo Purchases and Full Auto Guns

Funny; I seem to recall a similar report about the IRS from the last shortage as well.

It comes up every couple of years. Here's one from 2016:

 
Hm. $10M in 8yrs (2006-2014) seems a pittance, as compared to the size of the overall ammo market. Can't imagine that their purchases, alone, have much (if anything) to do with tight supplies right now. Even $700K in ammo this past quarter doesn't amount to much. About what I'd expect, for an agency ~5000 firearms and the range/practice time to support them.
