Magnum Resource Lone Eagle pistol in 444 Marlin.

At eighty I recently purchased a Magnum Resource Lone Eagle pistol in 444 marlin on Gunbroker and put two rounds through it. I had a 30-06 Lone Eagle pistol with a muzzle break that I could handle but sold it, (should have kept it). The 444 Marlin hit me in the face with the first round and holding it tighter the second round it flew out of my hand. It has no muzzle break and I suspect it would not have helped much. I just purchased a Savage Striker pistol in 22-250 and look forward to shooting it, maybe today.

I have not shot one but have shot the 30/30 Winchester, .350 Legend, .444 Marlin, .450 Marlin, .45 Long Colt/.410, .45/70 Gov’t, .460 S&W Magnum, and the .500 S&W Magnum from a BFR revolver. At 69 I ended up purchasing the one in .500 S&W as it was a tossup between it and the 45/70. By far the .500 has the most recoil but to me it is very controllable. Last time at the range I shot 25 rounds at 75 yards with iron sights.

You are most likely talking rifles, I am referring to a 444 Marlin single shot handgun.

No Magnum Research BFR 5 shot revolvers come in the following rounds: 30/30 Winchester, .350 Legend, .444 Marlin, .450 Marlin, .45 Long Colt/.410, .45/70 Gov’t, .460 S&W Magnum, and the .500 S&W Magnum of which I have shot all of them. I settled on the .500 S&W BFR revolver.

I also am 69 for a little while longer. I enjoy the big BFR revolvers, own a 500 JRH, 44 magnum and a freedom arms 454 casull I don’t mind the Recoil at all. I would say that the 454 casull has the most recoil of all of them.
