magnum primers vs regular primers

I am loading for my ar-15 and can't get CCI small rifle primers. Can I use magnum primers? Do I need to reduce the charge if I use the CCI 450 magnum primers.

The common answer is to reduce the load a bit. Try it and see what happens.

cci 450 small rifle mag does fine in .223 'loaded warm' many here on the TX SR team use that and a lot of Varget to good effect at the TSRA state matches and at Perry
