MagnetoSpeed V3 or Sporter due too muzzle thickness.

As the title states I am trying to decide if I should keep the V3 I bought yesterday.
The only reason I really purchased the V3 over the Sporter was its ability to fit properly on barrel thicker then 1".
Now my question arises how many barrel manufacturers are making bull barrels over 1" at the muzzle?
For example Kriegers are almost 1" in .308 but not quite but, upon looking at Bartleins contours I could not find the muzzle thicknesses.
For example if I where to order a bull from Criterion to replace the barrel on my 10 FP .308 it looks like I am right at the max of 1".
I reckon I am having doubts on spending the extra $200. if the Sporter will fit most custom barrels (bulls).
Granted the V3 has some nice other features the Sporter doesnt have but, to me it all boils down to fitment.
What do you all think and can you give me a better idea of what diameter most the thicker barrels are at the muzzle on say .308 and 6.5cm etc.
Thanks

I use the sport model on my 1.250" straight barrel with a Harrell's brake... Heavy varmints, Palma contours, etc.. even ad it on a Buckmark pistol...

Unless you strap one on, how will you know??

I use my Sporter on my slightly heavy barrel, (.920) and it has plenty room more for a heavier barrel on the strap.

Well, I was kinda hoping to hear exactly if the 1" max is a set in stone theory from possibly say a shooter with a Kreiger barrel thats 1.25 bull. If it would work.

It doesn't really matter though as I took it to the range this afternoon.
I figured if I thought what you get for the price was to steep I would return it and buy the cheaper version. I was more then pleased.
All I can say is the V3 is the bomb. So, easy to use compared to a standard chrono.
Never missed a shot, never loosened up and was super simple to use as the interface goes. No more waiting for a cease fire to mess with a chrony etc.
Love being able to archive my strings and add them to my QL data via a download into Excel in my load book. It will not be going back for a Sporter model.
Here is how it looks once in an Excel format.
Thanks for the comments though. :)

When using the Magnetospeed on my rifles I wrap soe blue painters tape around the barrel where the strap is positioned. I no longer have a problem with the bayonet moving/coming loose. My barrels vary from 1" to 1.4" in diameter.

Had a V3 and shot the end some how
Got a sporter bayonet to replace it and it would not work with a 1.25 " barrel. Modified it to take the V3 adjustment shims which I still had and it works fine.

I had a v3, great unit no doubt. The ease of use, wireless, large display labradar is as accurate as magneto speed plus u can add weight etc of projectile for stronger accuracy.

Granted. I just don't see $200 advantage when compared with the V3 or a $370 advantage over the Sporter. But we each have our own method for evaluating best value.
