Magnetospeed display

Love my magneto speed but the LCD display module is faded to the point of being unable to read.

Anyone have this happen or know a fix ?

I called magneto speed and they said I would basically have to pay as much for the display as a new unit would cost.

It's not under warranty so that's out.

Don't bother telling me to get a labradar.... The Times I've used them they don't register shots half the time.

Any ideas ?

What did they quote for the price? It's $160 for the v3 display and $80 for the Sporter, right?

It's 1/2 the cost of a new one.

Yes. Multiple times.

Cant remember exactly but it was like $40 less than a whole new unit. I even said to them at the time I might as well just buy a whole new unit. They did not disagree.

Don't have a solution but only side comment - I have one that the connection jack is loose so it keeps turning off during recoil. These are not durable at all and I unfortunately expect to have to buy another one also.

No I've never had this issue with a faded screen with my V2. I do know when the warranty is out it's out. My next one will be a sporter model. There replacement parts are costly. I don't want a Lab Radar either.

Is it the digits of the display or do you feel it is the outer glass/screen as the issue? If the outer screen, try wetting the screen with just a mist of water. That fills in the surfaces irregularities and may help. Just a brief fix but if that works you might try using a wetting agent just a little thicker than water.

Far as I can tell, its the liquid crystals. If I press the glass screen, they reappear ever so briefly.

Which unit do you have, I have a brand new display just sitting in my cabinet but I am pretty sure it was for the Sporter unit.
