Mag feeding issues with 6br?

I am changing my Rem700 from 308 win to 6br, and was wondering if that shorter cartridge will feed okay from the same blind magazine? I am thinking about converting to a DBM system, but that would share the same issues if there are any, along with more expense. ???

anyone have some prior experience, I would appreciate any help from your knowledge.

Hatrick: My 6BR's are feeding without problems, in my short action remington 700's, using the Davidson glue-in followers. Drop them onto the follower, smoothly close the bolt and they chamber without any hangups. Never tried them out of the magazine.

The Wyatt mag., model #BR Box, is a center stack drop in for short 700's with the BR cases.

Thanks, I was sure there had to be something like that available.

Or check out the magazine modification by Mike Bryant. A Number of people, including myself, have had success using his box mod.

I've put together several 22 and 6 Dashers set up as repeaters, and have not had a single issue with feeding using factory parts without any modifications. I load the magazine about in the middle, but you need to work the bolt like you mean it, which isn't a problem when more than one coyote shows up. ;D

That's why I want it to feed properly for sure. ;D

That looks like it would do just fine. Maybe I can pick up some take parts from a 223, and just use that.

I have one 700 (22BR) that feeds fine with the factory mag and 222 milled aluminum follower. Another that I worked with needed some of Mike Bryant's tricks.

Bullet diameter/lenght is also a factor in how they feed.

Nothin' that can't be worked out, no matter what the approach........

Al: Have you used this mag box? Usually a center feed/single stack mag requires removal of a detachable box to load.

Al, I am very interested as well.. I still am having trouble from time to time after the Bryant conversion on my Model 78 Sportsman. Sometimes the round will "jump" out when pushing it towards the chamber. Zale

I you are still using the spring for the larger cases, try using the spring for the 223 follower, it may have less power. Midway has them for 6 or 7 bucks I think.

I'm using the Bryant conversion with cut down 308 follower along with the Smallier 223 spring and I'm still have feeding issues. I'd sure like to get this 6BR to feed reliably so that I can use it as a calling rifle as it is I can't rely on it to allow me to have that sometimes needed second shot.

I honestly can't remember which spring I have in mine.. I had another 700 in 6BR and it fed great out of the regular magazine..
