Mag fed 6br build

Does anyone have any info or feedback on a bolt action 6br using a detachable magazine with shorter bullets 68-80g?

I know they make magazine adapters, but it seems like most of those that use them are shooting prs style with dashers/bra and 105g+ rounds.

I have been wanting to build a br that’s a little more practical than a bench gun, and if I wanted to at some point have another caliber. I don’t shoot anywhere or have the ability to go much further than 300 yards so I thought a 12 twist shooting lighter bullets would be a fun all around setup. Any advice would be great.

I have a bra built on howa mini shooting 70 gr nos bt. 12 twist, have a 10 that screws in it too and shoot 90eldx. Feeds perfect. Have a 700 with a 8twist kreiger that feeds ok with ruger aic mags

In my 6BR hunting rifle, I'm using the Hawkins Precision Hunter magazine(4-Round) with their spacer kit. I'm shooting 70grn Nosler BT bullets with a cartridge overall length 2.225". The magazine is expensive however, it cycles "SMOOTH AS BUTTER" 100% every time. The magazine extends about 5/16" below the stock.
UPDATE: I use the below magazine with the Hawkins Precision Hunter bottom metal in my 6BR rifle. I tried the same magazine in a American Precision Arms(APA) bottom metal, it was a tight-fit in the APA bottom metal.

Russel,
That looks like a very nice option. Thanks for sharing.

I have a 6BRA barrel on one of my American Rifle Company, Archimedes actions. I'm using American Rifle Company magazines with a 6BR follower kit from Patriot Valley Arms installed.

I have four (4) magazines set up the same, and they all run great. I have not had any feeding issues, and I didn't need to mess with the feed lips at all. Using this for highpower comps I usually only load 5rds per mag, so I have no experience trying to fully load this mag with 6BR/6BRA. I run 95gr SMK's for short line and Barnes 112gr for long line....so that doesn't help you. But I have also tried 87gr Vmax and this set up still worked fine with no hickups.

Good Luck!
Ross

What about with a Rem. 700 action and 6BRA / 6BRX ?
There's NOTHING Wrong with, a 6 XC ( Tubb Version 1 ) that, "Feeds" WELL, "always", in the Rem 700 Short actions, IF, you don't "Need", the extra, Tiny Bit of, Short Range, "Precision" from, a 6 PPC or, 6 BRA !
It was, the EZ button for, me and,.. NO, Fuss or, muss !
Muy Rapido Funda for, second shots at,.. Coyotes

I’ve fed 6BR/Dasher/BRA from about every platform except a model 70, but I’m confident I could make that work.

Fifteen minutes of magazine work is all it takes. I don’t know why people are afraid of it ??

I’m fond of my Atlas Tactical with the “extreme duty” short throw bolt stop & TG ejector. AICs mags with the Primal rights kit feed flawlessly with my 30BR. That Hawkins set-up posted earlier will likely be in my future, tho.

I hate to even bring it up, but how about feeding in a Savage Axis type mag?
I have a model 11 trophy hunter 22-250 that I would love to swap out the sporter barrel sometime and 6 br would be great.
