Made a long and difficult shot today.

Coyote sneaking through trees about 175 yards, bright sun and deep snow but melting,at the shot he spun once and I lost sight of him in the thick cover. I went to the spot and I saw him laying about 50 yards away, dead. Brought him back and couldn't find one drop of blood,or hair out of place, frustrated I took and electric clippers and finally found the entrance hole, the 17 hornet did it's job.

That gives me hope for the future .
I am in the process of dialing in my Savage 25 .
Still working on the ejection issues .
What bullet if I may ask ?

Hornady factory 20 grain Superformance, no reloading for me, as Hornady got their act together with the 20 grain pill. I've dropped dozens of coyotes out to 250 yards drt, some have made 50 yards give or take, but all recovered. Practice is key, remember hit a golf ball dead center, start at 50,100,150,200,250, run rounds through the Hornady ballistic calculator, and you're good to go. Carry this on your phone and memorize it, so that when your rifle comes up, it's instinctively in the small kill zone.
