Mack Bros Action

Anyone have any experience with these actions?
From the picture the bolt appears to have a brass section exposed. Is this just a cut away?
Also looks like firing pin protrudes out end of bolt.

The firing pin extension is a cocking indicator, and is a good thing indeed, given the more-or-less solid shroud. The smaller exposure at the rear of the bolt, a la Anschutz, provides more protection for the rear of the bolt assembly, re: dust, water, etc., but more importantly, provides a lot less space for brass fragments in the case of a blown shell.

The "brass" is almost certainly TiN-coated steel. It's surely not brass.

Just picked up Mack Bros action from gun shop.. Very smooth and I'm pleased with what I see and feel.. It's going in my safe until I figure out what to build...
