M5 DBM vs BDL inlet

I have a rifle that is inletted for M5 DBM. I do not enjoy hunting with a magazine protruding and want to switch it to a BDL style. Is the inlet the same or am I stuck with the M5? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

To go M5 from BDL it has to be opened up so I am guessing that you can not drop a BDL in that inlet. Might just be better off getting another stock.

The bdl inlet is smaller than the m-5 you will have a gap around the inlet and it might sit a bit deep in the inlet as well. The Badger M4 trigger guard is very close to the M5 and will fit much better in the inlet than the BDL bottom metal

Thank you very much for the info!

You can use a Badger M4 triggerguard in an M5 inlet. There will be small gaps on either side just in front of the trigger hoop and a very slim gap along the side rails compared to an M5 but with the floorplate closed you can hardly see any of it. If you wanted to fill the gaps it it takes very little compound to fill.

The APA bottom metal is really nice (check availability). I much prefer the streamlined mag release VS the standard "tongue depressor" found most elsewhere. I have 2 of the "tongue depressor" style and find they snag on every dern thing you get near. I've never lost a mag thank god but they are a PITA.
