M44 Mosin's by the crate

What would be a fair price for a crate of 15 M44's in like new condition with all accoutrements included?? Yes, I have one.

I friend, local gun shop owner, made a coffee table with the crate he kept, took the top of and installed a glass top....real nice

Interesting. I could equip the younger members of the family, but ammunition would keep me broke!

I am with NEWPORTKILLER, 6k complete but don't under estimate the price of the crate it's self, I have only seen the cases of rifles a few times and they were being broken up and sold separately at shows, etc
Good luck

I just remember seeing a case of 20 arsenal new1863 Springfields many many years ago and thinking it was special then .. Try to find one now!! The Case becomes a big part of the historic value. It's disposable and therefore eventually rare as heck. It's also that the rifles are the same ones put in there originally by some Russian Ordnance worker.

For what its worth. True Gun Value say the average price for a new M44 is $764. I guess unfired in a crate would be considered new. Prices are all over the place on Gun Broker.

I remember seeing about ten crates of those in a little gunshop in Groton NY back about 25 years ago. Guys were lined up buying a rifle and a box of ammo for about $100. I took one look and thought "fencepost" and walked on. I still do not see the draw, but to each own I guess.

Myself, I am not a fan of the short ones like the M44.

you dont even want to know what I used to pay for full cases of these things. Now that I think about it, I may still have a wood crate up in the barn. I think I kept two of the rifles, just for the heck of it, and I think they are both still coated in heavy cosmoline. They are not really fun to shoot, at all.

Back in 2001 they were cheap for sure. I have one I shoot and they do kick.. That 54R round is beefy.. Maxim heavy machine gun down to the M44.. One cartridge makes it simple.
