M16 Style Extractor cut or M16 Mini extractor?

I am having a bolt built by PT&G and wondered if anyone could tell me why one is more desirable than another? The gun being built is a 300 win Mag if it matters in making a final/appropriate decision?
Thank you for any explanations/help. Dave

I think what you are hearing is the lack of a strong opinion one way or the other. I'd take it to mean - go whichever way you want (i.e., it really doesn't matter). FWIW, the only extractors I've had (other than the stock remington) are the Sako-style or M16 style extractors.

Thanks Dusty, I think that is the feeling I get as well. Ill probably go that route for just that reason, thank you everyone else!

The mini m16 was a way to get a warmer feeling not having to remove so much metal from a bolt as you do with the standard

It gives you the reliability of the m16 extractor with the solid mounting and not wedged in. It cant fly out after a case explosion like a sako can or is less likely. I love both the m16 types

The larger the cartridge the larger the extractor. This is the reason there are three different sizes. The larger extractors give you more surface area for the primary extraction to remove the fired case. You might do some research on safety test run by H.P. White Laboratories on different extractors. Remington factory style, Sako style, and M-16 Style. You will be surprised at what you find out.

Hey Nat, do you happen to have a link or maybe know the title of the paper? I've run various searches involving "h.p. white, extractors, safety tests, etc..." and while I come up with various testing papers done by them, I can't find that specific one and I'm actually interested in reading it.
