Lyman DPS3

I had good luck with my 2 but my recent purchase of a number 3 went back for repairs/replacement, out of the box not all the functions worked. (auto repeat, overcharge audio signal)It's been gone for 3 weeks so not sure how they will handle it yet.

If you look in the articles and look for the comparison test that was done last year, you should get a better idea of which one would be best to invest in.

I think these guys are being bashful, not wanting to endorse the same product all the time. I'll say it,Chargemaster, way out in 1st place.....I love Lyman and all they produce,if we lost power,I'd reach for Lyman.

In the articles it is Digital powder dispensers part 1 and a part 2 is the next article.

thanks for all the help guys...a seller on 24hrcampfire.com has one of these units he is wanting to trade to me for a scope ive got...but i hate to say but im completely ignorant on the lyman model...i told him to give me sometime and let me do some homework to see if it is something i may want...but a friend of mine here in town says go RCBS Chargemaster all the way and dont mess with the lyman..so im still trying to make my decision. currently i have an old pact model...i know its slow but it does get the job done and the lyman or rcbs would probly be a huge upgrade compared to what i currently have.

Got the DPMS-3 back last week and everything is workiing good, so Their service dept. is up to the task.

I remember there some comparisions done between the Charge Master and the Lyman DPS II, but I do not remember any discussion between the C.M. and the DPS III. I have a DPS III, I use it a lot of time to drop the main portion of the charge that I am going to use, then finish by trickling up the last lil bit of it on a TP-153 Denver scale. What I have noticed about the DPS III that I have is that when doing larger loads like 46.5 grs of Varget, the percentage of it being spot on is near 99%. But when doing a lighter load like 24.5 grains of Varget, the percentage of times that it hits the set load is way less and I find that I have to trickle up to the charge weight.
