Lyman Crusher Press Single Stage Shell Holder Fit

Flouncer

What the heck it works for me !!
Hoping I have made a simple mistake or overlooked something simple. Saw a Lyman at the box store on sale so I grabbed it. My Lee shellholders do not fit. Calls to Lyman are DOA. I emailed Customer service from their web page on Tuesday. Nothing yet. I ordered Lyman shell holders and they were here from Midway in 2 days flat, < 48 hours on doorstep. The Lyman Shellholders do not fit the Lyman ram either. Maybe I am overlooking something. I hope. My Lee press is waiting on parts which failed after 25 years. The Aperture on the Lyman ram is too small to fit the base of the shell holders. I cant believe they manufacture a standard part after years of production and be off 1/16 inch. ???? I am no Einstein mechanically . . . .. - thanks

Hope you get it figured out. I own 2 Orange Crusher presses both are from the 90's and my Lee shell holders work in them. Good luck!

Shell holders are shell holders right ? My RCBS and Wilson fit my Lee. The new Lyman fit the Lee ram. Hard to believe the ram would be off that much. Gotta be sumtin . .. .

I'd email cust service then and explain this to them. Might there be a burr or something in the ram slot preventing the shell holder from sliding in? Lyman shell holder should fit in lyman press.

Thanks Gamble. I emailed them Tuesday. I was so impressed with their hand held primer seater tool that when I saw the Crusher I jumped at it. I think I paid $78 for it. The slot on the ram is definitely undersized. Damn I need it.

Try popping the snap ring out and see if a shell holder will fit.
I bet that does the trick

I had a similar thing happen with a brand new RCBS RC. The snap ring was deformed and it prevented the shell holder from inserting. I popped it out and operated sans snap ring until RCBS sent me a replacement

My orange crusher retaining spring is so tight you think its broke trying to put a shellholder in it- same as yours. I bet yours has the same issue. Try to use a brass punch or hammer on it

JM, Hp thanks. DING Fries are done. I was hesitant to tamper with the ring in case I had to return . ... I bent it upon removal but the shell holders all fit. Snug !! Thanks Looking forward to tomorrow and some .223 for breakfast !!

- Dusty Thanks. Didn't need the hammer. I save that for my 02' Ford Explorer !!

I have the same press but old as hell... everything is so loose it falls apart.. Guess what the only tight thing on it is???? yup, the snap ring..

3 orange crushers all lined up here,I can tell blindfolded which one by the distinctly different snap of the shell holder install. But they've all checked durn near perfect on ram alignment.
