Lyman boreCam

Just got mine 3 days ago. Out of the box it worked great. Was able to see one problem I was having with a Henry rifle. Captured a picture of the problem and it is going back with the rifle to Henry R.A.C. for repairs.
Now for the down side. On day 3 The monitor that comes with it went bad. The pictures I captured were shown degraded No contrast, no detail. Pictures from the scope were equally bad. Further the mirror and camera are dust magnets. Tried to clean them with the Q tips on that comes with the BoreCam. They don't fit into the opening to clean and left more lint on the mirror/camera. Any small amount of dust or lint, shows up big time in the display.
Anyone else having these problems ??

I had a similar problem with the Q-tips. I tried squashing them with pliers and it helped. Was wondering if pipe cleaners might work better.
For the dust might try compressed air in a can. I'd go gentle in case the camera isn't glued or pressed in too tight.

I had a problem with 2 of the LEDs. It looked like they were poking their noses out just beyond the white diffuser ring washing out the right edge of the display. Sent it back and Lyman replaced it with a new one. Took a couple of weeks, though.

The cord or the board connection must be bad on mine - the light does not turn on unless you hold the cord just right.

I am also experiencing the same thing with mirror cleaning AND clarity on the right side of the screen. Left a voice mail with Lyman 5 days ago, still waiting on a call back.

Thank you all for your input. Those pointed Q tips look like a good thing to use. Also I did have that screen washout on the extreme right hand side.
Bought mine through Amazon, got a return authorization 20 minutes after I put in my complaint, printed out the pre-paid shipping label, packaged it and it's ready to be returned. Credit will be issued when they receive it. Like doing business with Amazon.
Will I order another one ? Most likely, sure is handy to have.

I'm using old fashioned lens tissue, and lens cleaning solution. No lint, no smears.

Your mileage, of course, may vary.

What do you use to get the lens tissue in there? I have heard that the mirror is plastic and coated with reflective material.
