Lubricated 22 ammo

Is there any 22lr ammo where the case itself is lubricated? I have a Smith & Wesson 617 10 shot that is very difficult to eject on the second cylinder fired. The fired brass comes out at 0.227 inches, which seems to be inline with what I would expect based on the SAMMI chamber drawings. The CCI Mini Mag rounds are 0.223 inches.

If nothing is available lubricated, would nickel plated help?

No answer on the lubricated brass but... Have you tried polishing the chambers? Really helped on my 617. Mine took about 200 rounds to start really getting sticky but the polishing did noticeably/considerably help. I used a cotton mop and xtra fine jewelers rouge. Took a lot longer than I expected but I would still use caution not to wallow the chambers.

i had a 617 6 shot, (now a Buck mark camper) that was hard to eject. never did resolve the issue so i will follow this a bit also.
have you tried CCI stingers? Maybe you are getting a wax build up in the cylinder?
im not certain if the stingers are waxed as much if any?

I don't think I've ever seen nickel plated .22LR. Is there such a thing?
I've read that, the Federal Hunter Match, HP's @ 1200 FPS are Nickel Plated Cases. Search / Look at YouTube to see for yourself, tho. The "Plinkster" did, a very favorable review, a while back on this ammo and, the Vid showed them, to be Nickel Plated !
Polishing carefully with, 600 Grit Wet / Dry Paper, Oiled lightly, like Merlin said, should help a bunch. Also, MOST of, the SK Match and Wolf Match, SV, 22 LR ammo, is heavily Lubricated with, some type of Oil ( mostly, on the Bullet itself, tho ). They work flawlessly, in my Bentz chambered, 10/22 green Mtn Barrel.

Look on the Smith-Wesson Forum .com under gunsmithing. This is a common problem. It is usually caused by the chambers in the cylinder being undersized. They are fixing the problem by buying a reamer from Manson and hand reaming the chambers in the cylinder. They tell you the exact reamer they use and have instructions. It takes less than an hour to do and has about 99% satisfaction rate. The reamer costs around $50.00 and you also need high sulfur content cutting oil. This process works on carbon steel ,stainless steel, and aluminum cylinders. For aluminum cylinders they use Tap Magic cutting oil for aluminum.

I will try standard velocity and see if it helps.

The fired brass is 0.004" larger than the unfired case. Shouldn't this indicate the chamber is not too small? I don't think its fouling as the very second round of cartridges could not be ejected with what I considered reasonable force on the ejector rod.

I just deal with the problem on my K22. It's a common issue on this revolvers. Resolved it by getting a beater buckmark silhouette.

Yes it does have quite a bit of lube on the case. I get outstanding accuracy with it also, I have used varioius lot numbers of it and it has all been good.
show me my current location

Almost any ammo in the SK or Lapua lines are well lubricated. Many bullseye shooters actually place a drop of oil on the first round in the mag. This seems to lube the chamber a bit and successive rounds run smoothly. With the lube on the SK rounds, I have not had to use the drop of oil. I recently purchased a 617-6. I have only had opportunity to run 3 cylinders full through the revolver. Using SK Standard +, I experienced no problems with ejection. Perhaps it will happen to me in the future, but so far the SK worked well. Keep us posted on your progress and solution to the problem.
