LT-32

Found 8lbs of LT-32 but wanted to read some info about it before I spent the money. Did a number of searches but didn't find all that much info other than what Speedy posted some time ago, and a few other comments of marginal value.

How did this new powder fair in competition this year in 6PPC rifles? Has anyone been shooting it in a slow twist 6BR with 65-70 grain bullets and what sort of results have you gotten? How about shooting it out of a .223? Are all the lots consistent as they advertised when it was announced? Any info about it would be appreciated.

It has done pretty well in the 6PPC. Search over on Benchrest.com there is also some info on shooting the light bullets in the 6 BR there.

Bart Sauter said thats the go to powder now and he's hall a fame shooter. So I trust his judgement .

Lt 32 is a good replacement and may take over n133 . He also told me it was more stable so I'm sold.

LOU Murdaca is responsible for getting it made.
Its working very well in the PPC case. It really is like thee old T 32.
Its hot powder

I have shot it a little bit in my 6ppc. It shoots really well. But with my shooting skills I don't see any better grouping than N133.
It does appear to be a grain faster than N133

I don't know about burn rate, but it is denser than 133.

In my 6ppc it takes a grain more N133 to reach the same velocity as the LT32.
Seems to be between H322 and N133
This chart is what I used for info to start with

According to this it is faster than H322. Not really what I found with the lot I have

T32 Is a copy of the original t322 produced by thunderbird powder.
The original T322 was a blend of surplus powder.
The new T32 is a lot finer then the old T powder but the burn rate is really close each lot is tested to make sure theres
a very close spec as to burning rates, If it doesn't pass the tests then its labeled as 2015 .
That's the information I have from the posts .
a lot of match,s were won last year with the new powder It should load about identical to the old T32.
I'm using it in my PPC with good results.
I'm finding it to really less temperature sensitive then VV 133 or others in similar burning rate,

Gerry, the T322 and the T-32 are exactly the same. Both are from one selected lot of IMR 8208. Thunderbird Powder bought 3 lots of military surplus 8208 that was used to load 5.56 ammo in the Vietnam era, After Thunderbird purchased this powder they contacted Walt Berger and asked if he thought that it would be useful for Benchrest shooters.

Walt, tested the three lots and found that one seemed better than the other two. After the same conclusion was reached by other shooters such as Don Geraci, Walt called this lot T-322. Hodgdon objected to their use of this number (322) since they marketed H 322. Walt then changed the name to T-32. The two are the SAME powder. The other two lots were sold by Thunderbird as IMR 8208. Good shooting...James

i'm a sucker for new powders and knew the history of T32. when widener's listed LT 32 i had to try it and YEA! i just got my new 6mm BR 14 twist kreiger/stiller/jewell/baer/sightron and 60-68 gr bullets from berger/cheek/watson and the loading began. it didn't take long to find several very accurate loads. 60-66 gr bullets shot one hole using 30-30.2 gr and the 68s likewise with 29.4-30 gr. i'm seating .020 into and my chamber is from pt&g's .2704 neck reamer. LT 32 burns a little faster than n133 and benchmark for me. these latter two powders are also good in this 6 BR. i'm currently tying it in a .223 les baer and a .223 ackley.

The lot you have must be slower than mine. I almost stuck my bolt with a load of 29.5g with a 68g bullet. It was WAY HOT!!!
