Having finally gotten around to doing some more testing on my (first lot) of LT-32 in 6PPC and .223 (In two bolt guns and two A/R's), I found that in all four firearms I loaded for took "quite a bit" more powder than what Accurate posted on their website to get to their published test velocities. I am going to go to range again tomorrow with more bullets to continue working up the ladder with an M1A as I am now encountering the same scenario of much lower-than-published test velocities. I have also noticed a distinct and DRAMATIC increase in carbon build-up (most readily noticeable on the A/R bolts), even after getting the bullets up to efficient-burn speeds. Am used to using a huge variety of powders that I have not had this happen with in the past (8208xbr, H322, N133, N140, Varget, W748, Rel.15, etc.). For primers, I am using Federal Match, Federal A/R Match, Winchester Large Rifle, CCI Benchrest, etc. Can anyone lend me their input on whether they have encountered sluggish slow speeds VS. published test data and dramatic carbon fouling with this powder? I am not one to run at 110% of "max loads" and don't want to have to in order to get a good burn if that is what the problem is. My velocities are already where I want them - and at the upper end of prudent loading. Seeing the same issue with my fifth gun, using large and small primers of various manufacturers, I'm definitely encountering a pattern. I'm happy with the performance accuracy-wise and not much effect with temps either. Just wondered what others were experiencing with this powder - good and bad.
